Montgomery County Embarks on Major Government Campus Projects

Norristown, PA : The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is committing approximately $280 million over the next 3 to 5 years for new construction and improvements to the county campus.

The first large project, the fa├žade replacement at One Montgomery Plaza, is currently out for bids. Commissioners will accept bids for four contracts: General Construction, HVAC Construction, Plumbing/Fire Protection, and Electrical. These bids are currently due on January 5, 2018.

The architect for the project, which is estimated at between $20 to $24 million, is NORR Design of Philadelphia. Blue Bell based Skanska USA Building is the Construction Manager.

The most significant project on the boards is the new Justice Center and the expansion of Hancock Square - estimated at $220 million . Preliminary design is underway - the architect is the Washington DC office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. The CM is Skanska USA Building.
