UPMC Making $2 Billion Investment in New Specialty Hospitals

Pittsburgh, Pa : Following on the heels of the Allegheny Health Network announcement of a billion dollar building program, UPMC Health estimates that construction of three specialty hospitals in Pittsburgh will cost in the range of $2 billion.

The three projects include a new 300,000 square foot Vision and Rehab Hospital , a new Heart and Transplant Hospital at the UPMC Mercy campus, and in Shadyside a new Hillman Cancer Hospital . UPMC's strategic and financial partner is Microsoft Corporation .

No architects have yet been assigned.  A design completion will be held for the Heart and Transplant Center and the Hillman Cancer Center.
