North Allegheny Schools Plan Major Elementary Renovations

Aug 01, 2017

Wexford PA : Pittsburgh based architects VEBH have presented a facilities assessment for the five North Allegheny district elementary to the school board.  P. J. Dick of Pittsburgh's North Shore worked in conjunction with the architects to prepare preliminary estimates for the proposed projects.

While final decisions on the complete scope of the building program will not be made until later this year, it is expected that two schools (McKnight and Franklin) will be significantly expanded. The other three schools (Hosack, Ingomar, and Pebbles) will have multi-million dollar makeovers. Preliminary construction budget ranges from $45 to $65 million depending on the final scope.

The project will be phased over four to five years with design beginning in 2018 for the first projects. Bidding for that phase would be likely in the first quarter of 2019.
