New Elementary School Planned for Baldwin-Whitehall

Sep 18, 2019

Baldwin, PA (Allegheny County): Sharon based HHSDR Architects/Engineers are in preliminary design for the construction of a new elementary school to replace W.R. Paynter Elementary on Pleasantvue Road. The overall budget for the new school is currently set at $48 million with the actual construction cost to run somewhat less.

The current plans are for a 48 classroom building which will be built on land adjacent to Paynter; upon completion the existing school will be demolished to make way for parking and recreational fields.

The current timeline calls for late 2020 or early 2021 bidding with a target groundbreaking in the first or second quarter of 2021.
